Our Physician
Dr. Ravi Mootha is a board certified urological surgeon practicing in North Texas since 2005. He comes from a medical family and developed a love for surgery from his father, a highly regarded general surgeon. He is a Texas native and grew up in the Houston area. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Mootha completed his medical school, urological surgery residency, and fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He also completed a specialized microsurgery program as part of his male reproductive surgery training. With this background, he brings the latest technology to all of the treatments he offers. Dr. Mootha uses his technical expertise to perform a delicate microsurgical vasectomy using state-of-the-art instrumentation, optics, and techniques. The result is the most advanced and least invasive vasectomy procedure available.
Dr. Mootha has over twenty years of surgical experience and has completed over 20,000 successful surgeries and procedures in his career. He has a special interest in no-needle no-scalpel vasectomy and has performed over 6000 vasectomy procedures. The American Board of Urology ranked him in the top 1% of urologists performing vasectomy in 2016.
Dr. Mootha is also known for his pleasant bedside manner. He takes time to educate and counsel patients and review their treatment options. Dr. Mootha is a "perfectionist" and uses meticulous technique in all procedures and surgeries. His staff share a similar philosophy to provide the best possible care in a pleasant and comfortable environment.
Dr. Mootha lives in Addison with his wife and seven-year-old daughter. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, automobile mechanics, and spending time with his family.
